Here is my story:
As many of you know, I am a Bay Area native and I have been a resident of Hercules since 2013.
As a community member, I have been an active parent volunteer with all 5 of our public schools and I currently serve as a founding member of PHREED (Pinole, Hercules, Rodeo, El Sobrante for Equity and Diversity) and HARPP (Hercules Against Racism in Practice and Policing).
My husband and I chose to make our home and raise our children in Hercules because the city provided a sense of safety and security, offered resources such as an accessible library and community center, and generally felt family-friendly.
Now, as our city is growing and developing, I want to ensure that we maintain our quality of living for existing and new residents and I want to ensure that we manage issues around transportation and accessibility. As the world around us is dealing with issues of equity and justice, I want to make sure that all Hercules residents feel safe in the city that we call home.
Most importantly, I want to hear from my fellow Herculeans and serve on behalf of our community at large; my voice matters very little if it does not reflect our collective voices.
I am asking for your support in my campaign for Hercules City Council.
As my grandfather would say, thanks-a-million.
