Our mother, Tiffany, has just received a liver transplant. Approximately 20 years ago, she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called PSC. PSC, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, is a chronic liver disease caused by progressive inflammation and scarring of the bile ducts of the liver. This results in impaired flow of bile which damages the liver cells and leads to cirrhosis, cancer, and ultimately, complete liver failure. She has just recently received a liver transplant and is now just beginning the long road to recovery. She has suffered through this disease her entire life, and was working full time until entering the hospital so she is fully insured. We have managed to get her short term disability, but as everyone is aware, that is barely enough to pay half of her utilities. Mom desperately needs help with paying her regular bills as well as those incurred from the transplant and hospital stay - not to mention putting food on the table. Dealing with this unfortunate disease has taken its toll on both her and the entire family, so we are asking for help financially to make sure she can keep the lights on and food on the table.
