Tiger Trails, Kangaroo Island
Donation protected
Tiger Trails is reaching out to all the horse lovers out there and those who enjoy a day out at the races!
We have been dedicated to providing retired racehorses and/or horses otherwise destined for slaughter a second chance at life for many years now. Due to a challenging farming season my budget is exhausted and local hay supplies have completely run out on Kangaroo Island leaving our only option to purchase feed from the mainland. Unfortunately here on Kangaroo Island also that means the excessive added expense of ferry charges and freight to bring supplies across currently making feeding these horses significantly more expensive stretching my resources to their limits. I am seeking support to help feed and care for them through this unprecedented time. In the past we have not sought any outside funding.
Tiger Trails sole focus has been taking on otherwise unwanted horses, re educating, rehabilitating and rehoming them, or many of them staying on to make up my very special team of trail riding horses. These horses in the past have provided thousands of people from all over Australia and the world so much joy and accomplishment in experiencing horse riding in the safest way possible on our picturesque farm.
Tiger Trails has taken on 227 unwanted horses since 2007 and currently have 86 on our property. They not only rely on me for their immediate care and needs but the promise of a future and future for many other horses that need to be rescued.
My goal of $50,000 will go a long way towards the feeding and general upkeep of these once unwanted horses. Other ongoing costs associated include veterinary care, farriering, dentals, regular worming, vaccinations, rugs, transport costs, mineral supplements.
Every dollar will make a tangible difference. All contributions will play a vital role at this difficult time ensuring their continued journey towards a second chance at a future they deserve.
Please join me in making a difference and giving back to these horses that have given so much to us!
Your compassion and generosity is very much appreciated and graciously accepted on behalf of myself and the horses. To verify this cause you are welcome to contact my veterinarian Dr Pratul Pratil Vet Equine Services or local fodder store KI Kennels & Fodder. Likewise for any further questions or information you’re welcome to contact me directly on 0427392030.
