Put a Tiger in Carly's Tank!

Donation protected
Mike Smith was an avid racer and a member of the Sportscar Club of America (SCCA). His posts to a variety of racing blogs were well known, varied and ranged from mechanical issues to humorous anecdotes, also known as B.S.

Mike contracted bladder cancer in April 2014 but never lost his smile or sense of humor. He raced the 24 hours of Lemons, the SCCA sponsored Hill Climb at the Dragon in September 2015 and many others.

Mike wrecked  his turbo-charged rotary-powered Jensen Healey - The Jensenator during his run at the Dragon, but vowed to re-build it by swapping the drivetrain into a Miata.

Unfortunately, he lost his battle with cancer just a few short weeks after the hillclimb on October 29, 2015 and leaves behind an only daughter, Carly.

Carly was everything to Mike and she wants desperately to go to Clemson University to become a veterinarian. More than anything, Mike wanted to see his daughter graduate and we plan to see that that happens!

Grassroots Motorsports has agreed to take on the project by doing the swap of the engine and transmission at Mike's house, using some of his close friends and the team from GRM. The car will then be trailered to Asheville where the finishing touches will be done at Steve Eckerich's garage. Once finished, the car will be auctioned off and all proceeds are being donated to Carly's education fund (the tank).

So won't you help out by filling up Carly's tank?

Thank you so much for your generosity!
