Dear Friends and Family,
It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the sudden death of Tigist Woldetensay Abay
On the morning of October 5th 2021, Tigist was on her way to work and was critically injured in a severe car accident near her Everett home. She was admitted into the emergency room at Providence Everett Hospital where she underwent brain surgery to stop the internal bleeding. She was in a coma for 3 days while she fought for her life. Unfortunately, she lost the battle and passed away on October 7th 2021.
Tigist was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She immigrated to the USA in 2001 with her husband and 2 daughters. She recently become an LPN and was working towards working her RN degree. She was a dedicated member of Seattle Orthodox Community for the past 20 years. She was known as a devout God-fearing woman. Tigist was a determined and loving sister, friend, wife and a mother to 3 daughters. She leaves behind her husband (Getachew), 3 daughters (Hiwot, Gerum and Amen) and 6 siblings. Her spirit was bright, her faith and angelic character was recognized and greatly appreciated by her family and community.
We as a family believe she deserves a memorial to be celebrated and remembered for her time here with us. This GoFundme page was created in hopes of raising money to ease the financial burden on her family. The money will go toward hospital bills and funeral expenses. We are asking for members of our community to contribute in any way they can. We thank you for all for your continued thoughts and prayers through this difficult loss.
