Tikos GoFundMe: From Amateur to Pro

Hi, my name is Thomas Tikos-Kadji, and this is my Gofundme Campaign.
I am a videographer based in NYC. During the winter season I work for an independent snowboard team based out of Breckenridge, CO. The team is comprised of 20 young, talented riders, who compete in top level events like Dew tours, World cups, Opens, X-games etc. Each athlete has one objective, ands that’s to become a professional rider.
I am hoping to raise 10,000 dollars to purchase new video equipment to create higher quality content for these young snowboarders. The budget includes funding for a DJI Ronin stabilization system and all necessary accessories, new back-up drives for storage of large files, a new computer for faster and easier post-production work, and new Go Pro equipment with stabilization mounts.
I grew up snowboarding. It’s easy to say that the mountains and my passion for the sport made me who I am today, and inspired my creative eye. Snowboarding is one of the fastest growing industries in extreme sports. Big name companies like Red Bull, Burton, Volcom, support their athletes and help push the boundaries of the sport, while providing business careers for them. Aspiring riders do whatever they can to attract the attention of sponsorship, and being featured in jaw-dropping videos, and showcasing ones talent on social media platforms are one way.
For kids who want to make snowboarding their life, it’s about getting the kind of financial backing these companies provide. Sponsorship means state of the art equipment and training opportunities. The first steps to becoming recognized by a major company like Red Bull are NOT EASY.
Without camera equipment like drones, RED cameras shooting in 4K resolution, stabilization mounts for perfect, smooth shots, any amateur rider is going to have a hard time producing content that makes them stand out from the thousands of other good riders.
That’s where I come in. As a videographer, and former competitive athlete who understands what these kids are trying to do, it’s my job to create content that reflects their athletic capabilities as well as their unique personalities.
Right now, everything that I have shot was produced with my only camera (Canon 5D Mark II, one lens, and a GoPro with a broken ski pole as a stabilization mount.). Clearly, I need better equipment. I’m hopefully that I can raise the money, with your help, and begin working with new equipment this season.
Please help me attain my goal so that I may continue to help these kids achieve their dreams, and also continue to create works of art that further narrate the essence of snowboarding.
