Hike to the top of Norway for an Alzheimer-cure

Hi, i'm Nils-Jarle and I lost my mom to Alzheimer's in 2020. My mom was a lovely lady who spent 25 years as a volunteer for people struggling with mental health issues. One year after her passing, I decided to start a charity "Til topps mot Alzheimer"(The Norwegian name) to honor her name. She forgot us, but I wanted to make sure no one forgot her.

In 2021 I hiked from sea level to the highest peak of Norway. 700km (450 miles) in the mountains and raised just above one million Norwegian krone (100.000 dollars). I gave the money to the Alzheimers research lead by nobel price winners in physiology and medicine, May-Britt Moser and Edvard Moser, at the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience, NTNU, in Trondheim, Norway.

Since then at lot of strangers have reached out to me and told me heartbreaking stories from their own lives. Alzheimer and other Dementia diseases are tearing families apart, and more and more people are getting sick. Today 55 millions people wordwide have a dementia illness and we need to find a cure fast. We can't afford to loose another loved one.

This year I deceided to do another hike. Its called The Northern Norwegian hike for Alzheimer research. I'm going to hike 720 kilometer over 31 days in Nortern Norway, starting june 27th, through some of the most beautiful scenery in Norway. Through Lofoten, Vesterålen, Senja and further north.

My aim is to raise 1,000,000 Norwegian krone again over several platforms, but hope to gained the attention worldwide to raise way more. I'll raise the goal here as more money comes in. Hope you want to support me and Kavli Institute in the hunt for a Alzheimer-cure.
