#TilleyTough Chris Tilley’s Fight Against Leukemia
Donation protected
Hello Family, Friends & Everyone! Myself and other close family members and friends wanted to put together this account to help support my sister Carra and Chris Tilley. Chris and Carra will be celebrating 18 years of marriage this July. They have 3 children Kayla (14) who is an awesome volleyball player, Nolan (9) who loves fishing just like his Dad and Mason (8) who is kicking butt in baseball right now. They all live in St. Paul, MO.
On April 29, 2019 Chris went to his doctor’s appointment for bloodwork because he continued to have flu like symptoms since he had tested positive with the flu 3 weeks prior. At that appointment, he was instructed to go to the ER immediately. Within that hour, the Tilley’s world drastically changed from the flu to possible leukemia. Try to imagine that, you think it’s just the flu and you find out you have leukemia... how do you comprehend those results or explain that to your children?
After many tests over those next 2 days, our fears became reality and Chris was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). This is a very aggressive and rapidly growing cancer if not treated quickly.
His current treatment plan started this week at the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes Hospital in STL and will require him to be hospitalized undergoing multiple types of chemo for at least 4 weeks. Chris will then have a short break and start another round of chemo for 6 wks.
This plan can change depending how his body reacts to the chemo at anytime. Chris will be out of work for awhile and expenses will start to pile up. The last thing I think anyone who is fighting for their life should be thinking about is how are we going to pay for this? If you know them, you know Chris and Carra never ask for help. However, I know the financial concerns of this new reality are weighing on them.
That’s where we come in. Together, we may not be able to cure Chris’s cancer but we can easily help lift some of that burden of expense off their mind so Chris can focus more on fighting this cancer and staying strong. We are asking for any help you can possibly contribute. Your donation will help pay for Chris’s life saving medications, help Carra go to and from the hospital, help with the kids, food... it all adds up and every dollar counts.
If you can’t give a monetary donation we ask you to pray for Chris, give him the strength to fight this and win and to pray for Carra and the kids to be strong during this difficult time.
Together, we can fight this! #TilleyTough
