Tim Gruensfelder Mem. Scholarship

The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships to dedicated and driven students just like Tim was. This is an annual scholarship fund that is awarded each December for 1 student chosen by application process. Each application will then go through a selection process which will be voted on by the alumni of the Beta Sigma chapter of Delta Sigma Pi!

Tim Gruensfelder joined Delta Sigma Pi in the Fall of 2014.  Although he was only an active member of DSP for three years, his impact on the fraternity and the school as a whole was astonishing.  During his short time in DSP, Tim performed many roles within the fraternity including, VP of Fundraising for his pledge class, VP of Fundraising for the fraternity as a whole for two semesters, the Senior Vice President, and ultimately serving as President during his junior year on campus.  Tim embodied everything that a brother in Delta Sigma Pi should strive to become.  He was loyal, passionate, inspiring, and he had a fire that burned within him that could not be put out no matter what life threw at him.

Unfortunately, Tim passed away in January from an eighteen-year battle with cancer.  Even when Tim was being tested the most by his disease, his commitment to DSP never wavered, and he always wanted to contribute even when he could not physically be present for the chapter.  These past four months have been a trying time for our chapter as we’ve mourned the loss of Tim, but we’ve truly grown closer together as a fraternity in memory of Tim.  We have decided to set up a scholarship fund in Tim’s name to continue to pass on his legacy to the future members of DSP.
