Tim Kelly’s Cancer Fundraiser

This past November, my dad Tim Kelly began a medical battle with tonsil cancer.

The treatment was tough, in part, because of his underlying health issues, including, but not limited to, kidney insufficiency, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

He made it through his chemotherapy and radiation and we were all optimistic about his prognosis and ability to return to work this June. It was crucial for him to return to work, since his cancer and recovery had set him back both physically and financially. Dad was stoked to have secured a job with Sun Country Airlines and was planning to start working there on June 19. Unfortunately, a few days before he was to begin, we were given the devastating news that his cancer had returned.

Rather than starting his new job, he instead finds himself again undergoing cancer treatment, beginning with a difficult surgery on July 6.

Unfortunately, medical and other related bills have already accumulated as a result of the first bout of cancer, and this next phase of his care will certainly see additional expenses mounting.

I have decided to start a GoFundMe Campaign to help my dad combat these financial hurdles and hopefully recover as fully and quickly as possible. My dad is a hardworking man, he often worked a full time job in addition to a part time job (or two) and I feel so heartbroken that he has found himself in this situation. He is one of the most generous men I have ever met, and I try to emulate his selfless and giving spirit.
