Tim Kerrigan had a very bad fall at the school he was employed at just over two years ago; where he tore his knee cap and subsequently hit his head. This was tough and the road to recovery was has been slow. In July he had a minor stroke followed by two additional strokes and a major stroke in September. This final stroke resulted in him being paralyzed on the entire right side of his body and his speech suffers greatly in comparison to the eloquent speaker you know Tim as. We almost lost him in the months since then and he has had numerous days in the hospital, and a month in therapy. He is finally back home with limited mobility
Unable to go back to teaching which has been his passion for nearly 22+ years is devastating. Tim was only two years away from retiring; and he now is faced with this disability which is a tremendous burden on him and those around him. He needs help with caregiving, meals, transportation to and from his therapy and doctors appointments, among other needs. His disability insurance at work (Glen Edwards Junior High in Lincoln) has been reduced, so his income has been significantly reduced which has devistated his finaces and left him in a bad place financially. Below are some of the costs he needs desperate help with:
MONTHLY COSTS
1500- caregiving
500- meals
400- transportation
200- prescriptions
Although Tim is making some improvements, it is going to take some time before he can walk and function on his own. These needs are urgent. Please consider helping Tim in whatever way you can.
Thank you
