Tim Vieth Hunting Accident Medical Expenses
The Backstory
It is with a heavy heart today that I am writing something so tragic. Around 12 pm Friday, September 18th, 2020, my dad went out to his deer stand. Nobody was home. My sister and my mom came home at around 2 pm. Shortly after, my sister started to hear some moaning out in the woods and thought it was strange. They went to check it out and found my dad lying there motionless; he had fallen twenty feet out of his deer stand.
He was lying face down in the woods, completely unable to move. He's unsure how long he had been down, but he couldn't move. The ambulance was called immediately.
The Costs
My father was airlifted to St. John's Hospital in St. Louis, MO. After CT scans, MRI's, and X-rays, he is currently still in the Trauma unit. He has several upper broken ribs, a cracked head, a broken collarbone, and three separate broken vertebrae in his spine, broken neck, and a punctured spinal column. He currently can not feel both arms and his left leg due to the spinal injuries.
Between the Air E-Vac, the ambulance, the cost of deforestation to get to him, all the medical exams, and his overnight stays, we're not even sure if our goal amount is enough. But, it's a start.
How You Can Help
We're in the dark. We can't see him. All we know is our dad is alone in the Trauma unit and we want to be with him. We don't know what we should be doing, but this is our father—the man who raised us and gave us lives we can be proud to say we have.
My father has worked his whole life to the bone and now he's suffering—medically, emotionally, and financially. He owns his own business, but it's small. He doesn't have health insurance and we need help—a lot of help.
He's a family man, a loving husband, and a father to four daughters. We owe him the world and need him to stay strong.
Please, if you can spare something to help us through this, it would mean the world to us, even if it's just your prayers. We want to see my dad walk again—want to see him smile, to laugh, and hold us in his arms. This is breaking our hearts.
Please share the link and spread the word. Help us reach our goal, we need all the help we can get.
Thank you, everyone.
With love,
The Vieth Family
