Tim Walker Memorial and Scholarship Fund

Tim Walker was larger than life. He looked like a Viking, had the heart of a warrior, and the spirit of a poet. Because of his magnetic energy, he had a way with connecting with so many different people. He was kind and gentle, fierce and courageous, the greatest friend, devoted husband, incredible teacher, and a deeply loving father. He was a man that could move mountains, and make everyone around him smile as he did it.
He leaves behind his wife Cori Walker and 1.5 yr old son Cameron John Walker as well as a multitude of family, friends, and students who loved him. To lose someone who still had so much to gift to the world is extremely difficult and the grief can feel overwhelming. It has been said that grief is love, unexpressed. To honor the love that Tim inspired and created in this world with his relationships with so many people, we wanted to start this fundraiser to direct that gift towards continuing his legacy of taking care of those he treasured most.
Tim found his passion in teaching. It lit his soul on fire and if you ever saw Tim when he was most passionate about something you know that he just exuded magic. He brought that fire and passion to his students at Chapel Hill Middle School. We know that he will be sorely missed by his students, so we are raising funds to honor his heart work and create a scholarship in his name.
Tim's happiest moment was when his son entered this world and he became the amazing father we all knew he would be to his son Cameron John. And although it's hard to say goodbye to Tim, we know this world remains blessed as an important part of himself lives on through his little boy. To mirror the love and support Tim has always shown those around him, we would like for a significant portion of the money raised to go towards his son's education as he gets older.
Lastly, Tim leaves behind a loving wife, the love of his life. Any loss is hard but to lose your life partner while raising a young son is especially difficult. We would like to ensure that a portion of the funds can be used to help her navigate this process with as much ease as possible so she can focus on their 1.5 year old son and her own healing process.
We appreciate all of you reaching out to ask how you can help and hope that this gives you a way to honor your grief with a meaningful action that gives back to those who meant the most to Tim, and to send off our loving and incredibly wise friend in a way that honors all the ways he has blessed our lives.
We love you Tim. Thank you for accepting us as we were, inspiring us to be better, and blessing us with memories that will always push us to find the music, poetry and passion in all of life's challenges.
