On March 5, 1998 I met a person who would become a part of my life, and, more importantly, he became a part of one of my dear friend's life, and married her the next day. I met him for the first time the day before his wedding at the start of his wedding rehearsal. This would become a great friendship that I am sure no one would ever have expected, but we were more alike than we were different. He was raised in Florida and was WAY more country than I could ever imagine. (I was born and raised in West Virginia where his future wife was from). He was the kindest, most gentle, loving and God-fearing man you would ever know.
He married Laura Sleeth on March 6, 1998 at his home church in Florida, and began a life that would lead them through many changes, roads, travels and trials. Their life and love was wonderful and they were meant to be. Soulmates if you will. They both loved the outdoors, camping, and just being in the woods. Tim was able to travel the world in some of his career pursuits, and the stories he had from these travels were amazing to hear. And if you were around Tim for long, you got a chance to hear them.
His true love, other than Laura, was his love of flying. From the day I met Tim, he made it very clear of his love of flying and being able to be above the ground and see the sights and beauty that God created on this Earth we live on. He spent many, many hours at airports close to wherever he was and always admired the other planes. He had a common bond to anyone that enjoyed flying and Tim was not a shy person. He would talk to anyone, anywhere, no matter who they were. He knew no stranger.
Tim and Laura eventually moved to the great state of Tennessee, which Tim dearly loved because of the small-town feel, the people who live there and everything about Loudon, TN.
On Thursday September 10, 2020 Tim went to the local airport, as it was his favorite place of course, and took his last flight. The plane he was piloting crashed into a field near Niota, TN. Tim did not survive. He leaves behind his loving wife of more than 22 years, his son, Wade, who turned 19 on the day his father passed away, his son Michael, and his daughter Cassie.
This family needs financial help, as there was no insurance, or any other means of support. Tim was the sole bread-winner of the family. They could use your support, if you can, to get through this terrible tragic time in their lives. Tim was loved by so many people and did so much for so many during his lifetime, I think it is time that we return that favor, for Tim. Tim touched so many lives in his life, we cannot begin to know.
Tim cannot acknowledge any gift you can provide, but know that his wife Laura and his children certainly will appreciate it and your generosity will never be forgotten.
If you cannot donate, it is completely understood and all we would ask is that you share this so that others might see it. Thank you so very much!
