Help with Tim's Shoulder Surgery
Donation protected
What Happened:
My husband Tim had a bike accident on August 5th that completely separated his collar bone - Grade 3. He wiped out - went over the handlebars and landed directly on his left shoulder. The impact tore the ligaments that connect his collar bone to his shoulder blade. You can see in the photo how his left collar bone (right side of x-ray) is just floating up above his shoulder.
After receiving X-rays he was immediately told he would need surgery to recover. He had surgery on August 10th where the surgeon inserted screws and a plate to keep the collarbone in place. Tim is facing 8-12 weeks of recovery undergoing physical therapy, and his return to work as a full-time painter is indefinite.
What Is Needed:
Help. Help is what we need, but it's not an easy thing to ask for. We know there are many other people hurting worse than we are, but we also know that we have a unique communty of people around us who love and care and want to help us if they can.
The best way you can help us is financially. We do have an insurance policy which helps, but our policy does have higher deductibles, and Surgery and Therapy bills add up quickly. Tim works construction as a painter so this injury significantly impacts how and when he will be able to return to work. He normally works 40-50 hours per week just to make ends meet so that loss of money also adds up quickly. This is actually the hardest thing for Tim to be able to deal with. He can handle the pain of a physical injury fairly well but not being able to provide for his family is torture.
Tim started a small business a couple years ago called Death Before Dishonor Co. USA where he designs and sells jewelry for men and women that honors your strengths. Each pendant is an Emblem designed to highlight unique strengths and qualities about you and your friends and is intended to honor you in a beautiful and tangible way. This small start-up business has been slowly growing but still hasn't broken even in cost/profits - It's a lot of work starting a business from scratch. One idea Tim had as a way of saying Thank You for supporting us during this time was to offer his Bronze and Sterling Silver Arrow of Courage Necklaces as a Reward for any donation of $70 or more. For $70 you will receive a Bronze Arrow of Courage Necklace and for $100 you will receive a Sterling Silver Arrow of Courage Necklace. See the Reward Levels Sidebar for Details. These prices are slightly discounted from their Regular prices on the website. If you would like to order any of Tim's other pieces rather than donating here go check out Death Before Dishonor Co. USA. There is a lot to choose from and every purchase helps us pay the bills.
The next 3 months are going to be the toughest for us as the bills start stacking up.
We wish we could do more to say Thank You for you prayers and thoughts and financial help. We are truly thankful for anyone who takes the time to think about us and consider us a friend. Please take a second to share our story on Social Media. That would mean so much to us. Love you guys!
Sincerely,
Tim, Melanie, Noa, and Levi Clark
