"From the street, to the podium." - CHANGING LIVES THROUGH LITERATURE (CLTL)
In 2008, author Khalil Coleman, started writing his first book, Time & Place 'In the life of B and K'! In 2010, he self-published by starting a business, Changing Lives through Literature. In 2012, Mr. Coleman went fulltime self-employed, contracting as a vendor with various schools and youth agencies, introducing his book and curriculum to students from all walks of life.
"Many students would tell me, I need to make a movie... and I always envisioned it in the back of my mind. I started to look at it as confirmation to what was put in my spirit, from the start of this book creation."
Mr. Coleman has sold thousands of books since released in 2010 and still continue using this story to enlighten youth and adults today. Last year in 2019, author Khalil Coleman released his 5 year project, part 2 of Time & Place! Time & Place ~ Keylanda's Story was so inspiring, it was immediately adapted by Express Yourself Milwaukee to be turned into a four-act stage play production at Miller High Life Theatre! https://communityjournal.net/express-yourself-milwaukee-presents-kintsugi/)
"I feel like I'm here for a reason. My success is determined by the success of what's around me. It's all art!" Mr. Coleman's work has been developed more into a love of community and self (family). "I want to show my commitment by growing and developing to demonstrate what it actually mean to change lives through the art of literature."
