Time to Give Back to AGN
Donation protected
Andrew, (aka AGN) has always been the first to step up and help out others in need.
Whether it's dropping off meals, boxes of produce, supporting local business, social causes or fostering cats - there's no doubt Andrew has a spirit of generosity and a heart for service.
And now they need OUR help.
Andrew's partner Scott suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm in the early hours of Sunday morning. By some miracle he survived, and is due further surgery on Tuesday.
Andrew and Scott tend to live "paycheck to paycheck" as it is, and any extra somehow always goes back into our community. It's time to give some of that back.
Scott has a long recovery ahead.
We can help take the pressure off worrying about where the rent is coming from and how to feed themselves and the cats.
They need to concentrate on Scott's recovery - not where their next meal is coming from.
If you can't donate, I know vegan meals are appreciated, grocery basics (catfood, toilet paper, non-dairy milk, non-perishables and "heat-and-eat" options) and messages of love and support.
Please give if you can.
UPDATE 2/8/23: Scott has been woken from his induced coma, and appears to have memory and sense of humour intact!
UPDATE 3/8/23: Scott has had his breathing tube removed and has had food and water.
UPDATE 4/8/23: Scott is being discharged from ICU and central line monitoring has been removed.
Thank you all SO MUCH for helping meet, and exceed our goal
No amount of security is too much when you have such uncertainty though, so if you can give, still please do.
UPDATE 5/8/23: There were some complications with Scott's drain tube today, checked with a CT and corrected.
He has a lung infection from the breathing tube, but should respond well with antibiotics.
His memory is improving, but he is still showing some confusion.
UPDATE 7/8/23: Not a good night with Scott being quite confused and not following direction regarding his drain. The concern at this point is infection. He also managed to pull out his catheter...
UPDATE 8/8/23: Andrew not coping well with confirmation of a brain infection and significant confusion that has come with it. They have however been pre-emptively treating it, so they are at least ahead of the game. The good news is Scott has managed to eat and keep down a small amount of food.
UPDATE 9/8/23: Scott is feeling much better today. He's been up to eat and drink and use the bathroom. He's using his phone and seems to have his sense of humour back. The bad news is they've located the source of the infection and it's the shunt - so Scott will be having further surgery to treat or replace it.
We have updated the goal to reflect this set -back. Thank you to those who continue to share and donate
