Time to KICK it up for KIKER

Hi my name is Brandi and I’m here to help one of our very own! This guy and his family have always giving to the community and it’s our turn to return the blessings! About 2 years ago Dave Kiker was diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Cirrhosis. Shortly after his diagnosis he was let go from his job, therefore no more health insurance. Up until February of this year he had not had many medical issues to speak of, but then he developed a rare form of Vasculitis known as Polyarteritis Nodosa (PAN). PAN occurs when the immune system begins to attack the blood vessel walls causing them to swell and eventually burst, which caused blood filled blisters and the skin to eventually peel away. The treatment for PAN is the use of Steroids which caused fluids to build throughout his body and triggered his liver disease, causing it to stop filtering the toxins. At this point his body began to fill with Ammonia causing Hepatic Encephalopothy (foggy brain as some would call it), which is the loss of brain function due to the liver not filtering toxins. After several hospital stays during the last couple of months the doctors have finally got him on the medications that he needs to help try and keep the Ammonia flushed from his system. But because he is unable to perform his daily tasks as he once was able to do he has now become unemployed once again. He has difficulty communicating at times and still has days of deep confusion and disorientation and is unable to focus even on small daily tasks. The doctors say he will have some good days and some bad days but without steady employment the medical expenses have started to become a little overwhelming. We are thankful for any prayers or support you can give to this family during this time.
