Timeless Short Film Fundraiser

Hello! My name is Emma Sumlin and this is my second film to direct alongside my friend Jonathan Collins, and we are so excited to have entered into pre-production on our dream story, Timeless. The film's idea came to me in the Spring of 2023, and ever since, I haven't stopped dreaming about the day I could make it. I recently premiered my last film We Were Happy and it was a great success among those who attended the premiere or watched it from home. We loved working on that project, and this project is even more exciting because not only has the story drawn people from all across the US to participate in it, but the scale of what we are communicating has grown and deepened. This is a silent, black-and-white, short WWII film to be shot in Springtown, TX in the Summer of 2024. This means the visuals are key and so is the music! With your help, we'll have a shot at making a top-quality, moving, beautiful, and powerful story. I finished writing the script a few months ago and it feels right. As well, the Lord has opened every door for this project, and we pray he will continue to help us in our fundraising! LOGLINE: Pearce Lauder and Majorie Kent's romance swirls in the 1940s, proving that neither war nor loss can destroy their timeless love.

DESCRIPTION: Pearce and Marjorie meet each other by accident and fall in love quickly. Their relationship is pure and exciting. Pearce is the optimity of a gentleman and Marjorie is the essence of grace and classic beauty. As we see their love story unfold we can't help but root for them and wish we were in their cinematic dream world. One night, as they dance among the stars, Pearce proposes to Marjorie and overcome, she accepts. They are married and begin their exciting life together. All seems to be going well until one day, Pearce receives a letter in the mail that he has been drafted into the war. Pearce and Marjorie have an emotional parting as he heads off to war. They promise to write every week, and that is just what they do. There is much hope for them as they send and receive letters to one another. But one day...Pearce's letters stop coming...

We are SO excited to have an immensely talented cast and crew. They are all extremely hardworking and have devoted their time and giftings to Timeless, and we are so overcome with gratitude. Some of them have even agreed to come thousands of miles to be a part of this project. Their credits go from short films to feature films, significant commercials, to widely-praised modeling. They are on their way to great things, and we believe Timeless is one of them.

LEAD ACTORS:

JORDAN POPE (Pearce Lauder): Jordan is so excited to be a part of Timeless which will be his 19th film since starting acting back in 2022. He is so thankful to everyone who has helped him in his current journey and to God for allowing him to pursue his dream.

GRACE ADAMS (Marjorie Kent): Grace is honored to be a part of Timeless and has been acting since high school. In theatre, she has played significant roles such as Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella in Cinderella, Rosencrantz in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, and Ismene in Antigone Now. She recently has been featured in a film directed by a woman who worked on Chicago Fire. She is excited to dive into the role of Marjorie and thanks God for this opportunity.

Screenplay By: Emma Sumlin - Emma Sumlin has been writing intentionally since 2013 in various ways such as poems, screenplays, novels, and short stories. She has won awards for her work such as Best In Fiction and Best in Poetry at the DOXA Literary Contest two consecutive years in a row. She attends college at Dallas Baptist University with a focus in English Literature and a Minor in Communications. As well, she has worked for Kingdom Story Company on the storytelling team, which added greatly to her experience in writing and reviewing screenplays. She plans to pursue a career in storytelling of some form, whether in acting or writing professionally.

Producer: Michelle Hoffman - Michelle Kaumeyer Hoffman is a writer, director, and producer. She is from Los Angeles, CA and resides in Dallas, TX. She has a degree in Journalism, an MBA, and studied Producing at New York Film Academy. Michelle is the Board Chairperson for the North Texas Performing Arts Film Studios program and is the owner of the marketing and production company Hayhan Marketing.

Cinematographer: Jonathan Collins - Jonathan Collins is a Broadcast/Digital Media major at DBU and has always had a love for all things production. He has recently interned for Kingdom Story Company and is excited about his newest project, Timeless.

AC - Destiny Ross - Destiny Ross is an immensely talented Assistant Camera operator in the Dallas area, known for her work with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, the platforms Freeform, Food Network, T-Mobile, and Netflix.

Gaffer - Kyle Boessler - Kyle Boessler is a director, writer, producer, gaffer, etc. in the Dallas area. He has directed, written, and worked on many films, displaying his wide range of film knowledge and skill.

Soundtrack: Grace Mitchell - Grace Mitchell is a sophomore at DBU and is blessed to be composing for Timeless. She desires to compose movie soundtracks. Her musical talent is far beyond the average music lover, and what she has already composed for Timeless is simply breathtaking.

Makeup/Hair - Alex Uceda - Alex Uceda is a makeup artist specializing in all forms of makeup artistry, receiving a certification in beauty, hair styling, body paint, and SFX. She is very passionate about her craft and offers past history of working well with employers' makeup needs to produce a result that is satisfactory. As well, she worked with Emma Sumlin on her last film We Were Happy and has agreed to return for Timeless.

BTS - Dorothea Lovett - Dorothea Lovett is from Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She is an actress, known for Things Left Unsaid (2024), Them (2021), and Georgia Sky. She has also dabbled as an assistant camera and looks forward to coming from out of state to shoot Timeless's behind-the-scenes content!

Timeless is not only my dream, but the coming together of everyone's gifts to create something beautiful. Everyone here will receive credit and it will help further them in their careers. Ultimately, for me, I see the Lord's hand in it, and I think it will be a powerful opportunity to spread light and tell a worthy story.
