Welcome Family and Friends! As most of you know I was diagnosed with Throat Cancer this past March. After doing my research I decieded to go to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and get their opinion regarding treatment options, and after a week filled with mutiple doctors  appointments and tests I was sure that this was the place to be for my cancer treatment. For the past 3 months following the directives of the doctors at MD Anderson I have been able to have chemotherapy locally in Ft Myers Florida. We are now planning phase 2 of treatment which will be radiation combined with low dose chemo, while insurance is covering the lions share of my treatments it does not cover the mutiple trips to Houston, housing while in Houston, (which may add up to 8 weeks for phase 2) or lost wages during this process. All this being said I am now reaching out to family and friends to ask for your help with these "non-insurance covered expenses" . The news from the most recent trip(July 1)  to MD Anderson is that things are going well and chemo has significantly shrunken the tumor, radiation will now hopefully kill the remaining cancer cells and the short term goal is to have all treatments complete by mid October.
