Tim Gleba MEDICAL

Hello my friends, family and fellow online community. I am about to share something that may take you out of your comfort zone. For that, I apologize in advance.  My name is Erin Guzowski. Out of the many things I am — a mother of three, a model, philanthropist, animal advocate — I am also a RAPE SURVIVOR. My rapist is the perpetrator in this story.

He was recently released from jail, where he was imprisoned for vehicular assault involving his girlfriend and her best friend. Shortly after, on July 31st, he was allegedly abusive to his girlfriend again.  Tim Gleba, the best friend’s husband, tried to intervene but was brutally beaten by the perp. Tim suffered a fractured nose in 5 different places, 2 orbital eye fractures, several more fractures in his cheek and eye area, and possible retina and optic nerve damage.  He is scheduled for facial reconstructive surgery this Wednesday, August 10th. Left unable to work, Tim is not only physically damaged, but also financially burdened by this surgery. He needs your help.

The perpetrator committed suicide 3 days later.  He shall remain unnamed out of respect for the family survived by the deceased. Unfortunately, in doing so, he has escaped any and all criminal charges including any financial obligation and restitution for what he did to Tim.

Tim is a loving father and head of household with a career as an appliance repair technician, and also an instructor at an appliance academy, training new students from all over the country. He is now on medical leave, and therefore, unable to work until recovery from his upcoming surgery. His wife, Teresa McCready, used to be a domestic violence advocate (another reason why she and her husband were trying to help the perp’s girlfriend escape the toxic relationship), but has since left to be a stay-at-home Mom to their 3 sons, 2 of which have their own medical needs. Their son, Xander has a high-functioning form of autism, suffering from severe anxiety disorder, ADHD and OCD. Their smallest boy, Phoenix, age 6, is diagnosed with infantile spasms, complex seizure disorder, PVL (brain damage), Dysphasia (he's on a feeding tube) autistic, developmentally delayed and visually impaired. He requires therapy weekly and is mentally that of a 2 or 3 year old. They were keeping everything together financially until Tim was assaulted.  Now they can no longer make ends meet.  This is the reason I am asking for your help on their behalf.

I was unable to bring justice to my rapist all those years ago as my shame and the trauma of it kept me silent, and I've lived with that regret ever since. He went on to rape many more girls in my community, a small, sleepy town in Northeastern Ohio that was home to this criminal and his secrets for almost two decades. He finally got caught and sent to prison for statutory rape while living a short while in another state. I've dealt with the pain of my attack that happened almost 20 years ago. I would be riddled with guilt, though, if I didn't use my voice, and speak up NOW to make a plea for us to come together. Let's not allow another of his victims to be left to deal with the pain alone.

Thanks to technology, our community has now expanded greatly due to social networking. We now have the power of reaching lost friends, making new ones, and it's given us a platform for issues that matter. Many women have been able to come forth and confide in me THEIR story of his (attempted and/or successful) rape. This opportunity wasn't available 20 years ago. The power is in our hands, with the stroke of a button and the click of a mouse, we can make great changes. Let's take this opportunity to help out the LAST of his victims, an innocent man, beaten, for trying to put an end to the reign of terror. Please donate, any amount will help, (no donation is too small) and if you can not, sharing this story is just as important. Many thanks, Erin Guzowski
