Timmy’s Team to Fund Track for DDI

Tax deductible
Please join Timmy’s Team and help us fund a track at DDI’s Little Plains Campus in Huntington, NY. The campus, located in a 50+-year-old school building, houses DDI’s Early Childhood Program. It is also home to 24 children living in residences built a few years ago for children originally placed out of state because there were no available beds in NY. This campus has never had a track. It will be easily accessible from the school building and residences for physical education, recreation and therapeutic purposes, which are essential to the daily lives of many of these early childhood students. Like the rest of us, exercise is critical to a healthy life and it provides an outlet for those with behavioral challenges.

I am running the Philadelphia Marathon in November to raise money for this track. The cost for the track is estimated at $20,000, and while we will be contributing, we can’t do it alone. Many of you reading this have supported Timmy’s Team in the past, and I am humbly asking you to help us again this year. Will you join Timmy’s Team?

My son Timmy attended DDI Early Childhood programs on this campus when he was a toddler, and now he turns 21 at the end of this year. This began our nearly 19-year relationship with DDI which continues to this day through my service on DDI’s board of directors. DDI is also playing a role in administering Tim’s services as we make the challenging transition out of school-based programs.

This will be my 9th marathon, all of which have raised money for organizations supporting the developmentally/intellectually disabled. Timmy's Team has raised nearly $140,000 since we began in 2014. It is a tribute to my son, Timmy.
