Timothee’s PU Surgery

My name is Keli and my sweet cat son Timothee has had a rough few months. In May of this year, when Tim was just about 8 months old, he experienced a urinary blockage. This can be common in many male cats and for Tim we think it is caused by stress.

Whenever it happens, it can be life-threatening since the inability to urinate can cause rupture of the bladder, kidney failure, and extreme pain. We were successfully able to unblock him, but he has continued to block about every 1-2 months since then despite our efforts to make his home life less stressful and putting him on behavioral supplements and a urinary diet.

At this point, he needs to have perineal urethrostomy surgery as soon as possible, which will bypass his tiny urethral opening and allow him to urinate more easily even when stressed. This is a specialized surgery that is not done by all vets, so it can be expensive. I am a veterinary technician so I have been able to manage financially for his care through the clinic I work at, but they do not do the surgery he needs. I have already maxed out my CareCredit and other lines of credit I have in taking care of him so far.

I’m looking to raise about $1500 by October 20th for the surgery. This is the least expensive cost I have been able to find even with discounts I am able to get at some specialty hospitals because of my position as a veterinary technician. This money will go towards the surgery itself and any pain medications he will need as he recovers. The surgery has a very good prognosis for most cats and should give him the quality of life he deserves for the rest of his life.

Timothee is such a sweet boy and has his whole life ahead of him. If you are able to give just a little or pass the word along, it will go such a long way towards making this little guy’s life a long and happy one! We both appreciate it!
