Hi, my name is Kayla Crimmins. My Dad is Timothy J Crimmins. He was the father of two kids… myself, and my younger brother Timmy Jr. He also has a grand daughter Addilynn Miller who was the absolute center of his heart. I can’t believe I am even writing this, or asking for any kind of financial assistance. This has been the hardest most gruesome, cruel nightmare we have ever encountered or could fathom. My Dad was murdered on or around March 16th. My Dad had so much life left inside of him, and so much left to do. He was cheated. He deserved so much better than this. The only reason they even found him was because I didn’t hear from him in 3 days, and I called the police for a wellness check. Always go with your gut feeling.

My Dad had been living in Nederland, Colorado for about 4 years. It’s straight up the mountain about 40 mins from Boulder, Colorado. He moved out there because he was a passionate Stone Mason and everything is stone out there. He had completed some amazing jobs, and so many people have reached out to me to tell me how amazing my dad was, or how wonderful and one of a kind his work was. Everyone there is just devastated.

The police and coroner still won’t give me all the information they have because it is an “ongoing investigation” and said it could be months before they decide to let me know their findings.

What I do know is that my Dad was shot, and that the coward that killed my Dad decided to also kill himself once he realized the police were notified and he was caught in cold blood. (I do know a few other details but I feel that they are a bit gruesome for people to read, but if you reach out to me I will I’ll tell you in private)

How do we move on from this? How do we find justice? Or comfort that he will ever be at peace after being murdered?

If you had the pleasure of knowing my Dad you knew how much he loved his family. He loved us kids so much. All I have kept saying over and over is “My Dad hates this so much. Nobody hates this more than him”.

My Dad was funny… not just regular ha ha funny… he would make your stomach hurt because you are laughing so hard. He could always find the positive, and he would always be able to make you laugh even in the hardest situations. His advice was gold and his friendship was incomparable. He would do anything for anyone. He loved everyone. He loved animals. He loved making the world a better place. He loved fixing things and making them beautiful.

My Dad was trying to wrap up his time in Colorado and move back home to North Carolina to be with his kids. My Dad was a Master Mason for 40 plus years and unfortunately, moving his legacy from Colorado to North Carolina was an extremely costly endeavor. Once I realized the weight alone that we were facing I knew this wasn’t something we could do ourselves. And due to the circumstances it had to be moved FAST. There was no time to waste and all hands on deck.

I have learned really quickly that death is really expensive. I have barely had time to actually sit down and grieve my Dads death. I got home a few days ago and had to have the horrid talk with my daughter… that a bad guy hurt Poppy and he didn’t make it. How else do you tell an 8year old? I will tell you this…. I have never heard my child scream like that in my life… and I pray that I never do again. All of this is just shattering. To be asking for money feels awful and it is so out of character for me.

Everyone keeps asking if there is anything they can do to help me, or my brother. It’s hard to say but really the best way anyone can help us right now is financially. I have put everything on credit cards and honestly without some help this will cripple us financially for years. Any assistance will be appreciated beyond measure.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

We are still planning on having a service for him and the details will be announced when they are determined.
