Hi, I am Nicholas Gerken; I am creating this gofundme to help cover my father's cremation, burial and other financial necessities.

 

My family was informed Fathersday morning of his passing. My father was admitted to Presbyterian Rust Hospital on his birthday for pneumonia. We attempted to move him to an inpatient hospice facility but the hospital stated my father didn't meet the criteria. The hospital stated that my father wasn't likely to pass away soon, so my family was attempting to put the money together for all of this. Unfortunately within 24 hours of my father being moved into an outside facility he passed away. My father was 66 when he passed leaving behind a wife Janelle 69, two sons James 36, Nicholas 32, a daughter inlaw Ann 32 and a grandchild 5 months.

 

I am reaching out for help with the cost of the funeral and burial, because in August of 2017 Timothy was diagnosed with adult onset hydrocephalus. This left him unable to work, so this left him on disability and social security. While this was nearly enough for him to live off of, it made it impossible for him and my mother to save for this type of expense. It is extremely difficult to ask for help let alone financial help, but I know from the years of volunteer work both my father and I did, you never know if people will help unless you ask.
