Timothy Paul Diem Memorial

Early in the morning on January 4th, 2019 Tim suffered a severe asthma attack that led to a heart attack. The paramedics arrived and resuscitated him, but the lack of oxygen to his brain caused severe swelling. After several tests confirmed that he was brain dead, his family made the difficult decision to donate his organs, which took place early in the morning on January 8th. While this was a difficult decision, it is what Tim would have wanted. He donated his heart, liver, and kidneys. He was 35 years old.

The sudden loss of Tim has left a big hole in the hearts of his loved ones. During his last few days in the hospital, it became clear how much of an impact he had on other people’s lives. Parents, girlfriend, brothers, sisters, grandparents, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends were all there to say goodbye. We all feel truly blessed to have been graced with Tim’s short, but beautiful life, and we can seek comfort in the fact that Tim’s heart beats on in the chest of its recipient.

We are asking for your support during this difficult time by asking for donations to help offset the unexpected memorial and funeral costs for the family. It is unimaginable to think of the pain that his family is going through right now. This is an opportunity to help ease some of their burden so that they may grieve the loss of such an amazing person. All donations will be withdrawn by Tims brother Jeremy Diem, into his personal account, to be distributed to Tims parents in order to cover memorial expenses upon receipt.
