Tim’s Heavenly Birthday.

UPDATE:

We are extremely sad to write that Tim passed away on Friday, April 5. He was without pain and at peace with his family and friends there during his transition. Tim appreciated the love and support of his brother and his many friends that came to visit and sent words of comfort since his cancer diagnosis. A celebration of Tim's life is being planned for his birthday on Saturday, July 20. We will update this page and Tim's Facebook with details about the celebration. Thank you for your generosity and care.

Dear Friends and Family,

We come to you with heavy hearts to rally support for Tim Sabo in his time of need.

In January, Tim was diagnosed with metastatic gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma and that initiated this devastating sequence of events leaving Tim currently in hospice care.

Six days after his diagnosis, Tim had a stroke because of a large blood clot on the right side of his brain while driving and totaled his car. The stroke left him unable to work and his health continued to deteriorate by the day. We met with his oncologist 6 weeks ago and had a plan in place to start chemotherapy but his body continued to work against him; Tim has experienced one setback after another and has been subsequently hospitalized every week since.

Tim has significant cognitive impairment and no longer has the executive functioning necessary to navigate his phone. The lymph nodes around his organs were swollen from his cancer and he needed stents put in his kidneys. He’s suffered from an incarcerated hernia that required emergency surgery. He’s had pancreatitis and sepsis. His pain and the related treatment impacted his appetite and he has suffered from dehydration, anemia and significant weight loss. His heart has 2 different conditions that put him at risk for a heart attack or another stroke. His body is riddled with blood clots and metastases from his cancer.

Fast forward to last week - where Tim was supposed to have his first cycle of treatment, his physician felt he was too frail to tolerate the chemotherapy and at this stage, would do more harm than good. As a result, Tim has transitioned to Hospice of Lenawee County where he will live his final days pain free surrounded by those who love him.

While we have offset most of his daily financial constraints, his other expenses still require attention, which is why we are asking for your help. Your donations will directly aid in addressing his outstanding/ current financial commitments - including any upcoming bills incurred, as well as his cremation, and Celebration of Life Service.

Every single contribution, regardless of size , will significantly help alleviate the financial strain on those who have been caring for him during this time.

Please reach out with any inquiries and many thanks in advance .
