Tims' Rally for Rangers Peru 2022

 

Want to ride with me, for a thousand rugged miles, through the rainforest of Peru?

 

 

 

 

In May 2022, I will be joining Rally For Rangers  to help deliver motorcycles to park rangers in the remote Amazon rainforest. I’d love to have you come along with me on this 15-day journey – in spirit, as my Go Fund Me backers – as I join with other motorcycle riders in a vital mission to protect the world’s special places by empowering rangers around the world with new motorcycles and equipment.

The goal is to give brand new Honda motorcycles to park rangers who normally must do their jobs only on foot or horseback. We give them bikes and other equipment they need to protect the environment for future generations.

 

Around the world, critically important natural and cultural resources are under constant threat. Wildlife and rare plants are routinely poached. Illegal mining, development, and illicit drug trade devastates landscapes. Cultural antiquities are stolen or damaged. Often the only thing between the permanent loss of this natural and cultural heritage is a sole park ranger. And all too often that ranger is ill-equipped to protect against those threats. Your support can change that.

 

How will the funds be used? I am asking for $5,000. All of the funds go directly to Rally for Rangers to cover the in-country logistics and the donated motorcycle. I am covering the cost of travel. 100% of the funds raised for this effort will go to this cause and any remaining funds will be donated directly to the organization.
Please consider riding virtual shotgun as I hand over my motorcycle to a park ranger to help make it easier for them to do their job keeping the rainforest’s animals (including jaguars, giant otters, lazy bear sloths and the pink Amazon dolphins) safe from poachers.

Why do YOU need to ride it to deliver it?

The process of riding the motorcycle across the country to deliver it to a park ranger is important because 1) it provides donors with confidence about the use of their money, 2) it raises first-hand awareness about the critical state of natural resources, and 3) it engages diverse stakeholders in the issue of environmental protection through stories, experiences, and personal relationships.
