Tim’s Long Road to Healing

Donation protected
Life can change in the blink of an eye. That’s exactly what happened the night of Jan 30th. Due to a machine malfunction at work, my brother-in-law, Tim, suffered pretty extensive burns to his arm and hands. Due to how extensive the burns were, he had to undergo surgery to clean and repair the damaged skin. 10 skin grafts, 42 staples, and roughly 150 stitches later, along with a donor skin site, he spent a week at John’s Hopkins Burn Center.
Yes, Worker’s Comp is paying towards the injury in regard to doctor appts, surgeries, meds, and physical therapy, however they only cover a small percentage of his paychecks, which creates a financial struggle on top of the stress of not being able to return to work for the unseen future. It does not cover any time his wife, Amber (my sister), had to take off work or will have to take off work in the future for follow up appts/procedures.
Tim is a very busy individual, whether it be at work or at home. He enjoys building things and tinkering with things, but due to the extent of the injuries, he is not able to do those things outside so we are trying to get him to work those hands with things inside(legos, puzzles, etc). He is not a person to ever ask for help and neither is my sister, as they both work really hard for what they want and what they have. Amber is by his side every day and every step of the way to help with dressing changes, showering, meal prepping, medication preparation, and transporting to and from appts.
They would not reach out for help which is why I am asking for them.
Yes, I understand that everyone is running into financial burdens as the price of everything increases, but if you could spare even a dollar, it would be a huge help and blessing during such a traumatic and rough time. If you are not able to help financially, please pray, send good vibes of healing, and share this post. I will also add my sister’s Venmo if you would like to help financially through that.
Again, anything helps no matter how big or how small! I appreciate it and I know they will be ever so grateful!
