Hi my name is Kelly VanBuren and I am asking everyone for their love and support for one of my colleagues (6 years strong) and someone I am honoured to call my friend. Her name is Tina Boyce. Tina is a hard working mother of 2 lovely boys (age 16 and 18) and was wife to Kenny.
On Jan 15 2023 and Jan 20 2023 Tina suffered 2 separate heart-attacks. She had (2) Spontaneous Cornea Artery Dissections (SCAD). Unfortunately the cause of this kind of heart-attack, is still unknown. Tina was in ICU and was released the second week of February (2023) to go home and be with her family to rest. In Tina’s words her “life has been a crazy roller coaster with extreme ups and downs but with all the amazing doctors, surgeons, nurses and God I am still here. Given these circumstances, Tina has not been able to work for quite some time and is ineligible for any known income replacement benefits. For some, this is usually a point where support from others already becomes necessary. As this past week has unfolded it turns out Tinas own personal sufferings are just the beginning of what challenges this family will face moving forward. Tinas husband Kenny has also been un-well for quite some time and although he did his best to find the strength to put up a fair fight in the company of the same supports Tina has had, sadly Kennys strength ran out on February 7, 2023. This situation has been devastating for their family and heartbreaking for all of us that know Tina and her family. Their two young boys are in a situation where need to find the courage to care for their mother while she tries to gain the strength to try earning an income again for herself and the two teenagers. To make matters worse they need to comfort their mother as she grieves the loss of her husband and simultaneously grieve and care for each other. This family deserves an opportunity to grieve in not only peace but comfort. To be able to slowly pick themselves up and walk towards the sunshine as they do their best to become regrettably familiar with their tragic new life, without a father and husband to help lead the way.
Tinas co-workers have already started making plans on what each of them can do to alleviate some of the financial burdens this family is and will continue to face for an unknown amount of time.
Any and all considerations are greatly appreciated and those who know Tina understand how much she loves to give to her community. Before falling ill herself she was always volunteering at Mount Sinai, Tina also gave her time 7 days a week to help people of all ages find a passion amongst figure skating.
The funds raised will cover all Tinas families expenses as they have no income and Tina isn’t even allowed to drive given her ongoing conditions. Expenses this family have against them currently are (not exhaustive) rent, utilities, funerals costs for Kenny, food, prescriptions, home & auto insurance, necessities related to the two teenage boys.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️❤️
