Here is a note from Tina:
"Thank you so much for the love, prayers and your generosity. We cannot tell you how much we appreciate it and you! This will definitely help to get us back on our feet.
My surgery is successfully done and healing is going great.
Molly is so amazing! In spite of everything we have been through, she has been writing college essays, applying to colleges, doing homework and working. She only needs 2 credits to graduate from high school. I am so very proud of her.
Thank you again!
Love, Tina & Molly"

We will be leaving this campaign open for a bit longer just in case there are others who would like to make a contribution. To say we're overwhelmed is a huge understatement!

Previous post:
I'll explain the new image above in a moment.  First, on behalf of my sister Tina and my niece Molly, a HUGE "THANK YOU"  for your incredible generosity.  Those two words just don't begin to express the depth of their thankfulness.  They have been overwhelmed by what you have done for them.

The original goal of $10,000 has been exceeded!!!  This will undoubtedly allow them to move forward in the coming weeks to set-up new temporary housing.  But, because there may be others who still want to make a contribution, and because of the cost of setting up a new home we are going to keep the campaign live for a bit longer.  So, please feel free to continue sharing their story!

We hope you feel as blessed by being a part of their story as they have been by you and your gifts!!!

As for the image above:  Tina was able to go to her property yesterday for the first time.  This is what she saw.  Please pray for her and so many other's in her community, for wisdom and for the ability to move forward one day at a time, as they begin the rebuilding process.

Original post:
How do you start over when you've lost EVERYTHING??  My sister (a single mom) is now asking that question. Like so many others she has been devastated by the fires in Oregon.  Her idyllic log home sitting in the forest outside of Glide, OR is gone. Only the stone chimney is left standing.

Her most urgent need will be to find suitable housing to rent.  Any funds raised through this campaign will help her and my niece do just that.  Then they can start the process of replacing all of the practical things that they will need.  Just in time for my niece to start her senior year of high school.

As I personally was preparing to make some muffins the other day it dawned on me, my sister doesn't even have a set of measuring spoons.  Sometimes it's the little things that get our attention.

On Tina and Molly's behalf, "THANK YOU" for anything you are able to do to help see them through this initial stage of starting over.  They have been overwhelmed with the kindness of their local community.  They're finding out just how much they are loved - - which can be an overwhelming experience, in a really good way!!!

As a side note:  Tina will be having a required surgery next week, that has been on the schedule for some time.  She's choosing to go ahead with the surgery, even in the midst of everything else.  If you're a praying person I'm sure she'd appreciate your prayers.

Blessings - - with deep gratitude!
