Its that time of the year again Burnouts!!!!!
As many of you know, or for those of you who don't, I'm competing once again in the national pageant, Miss Comedy Queen, honoring last year's winner, Amanda Punchfuck. ANR Productions, who produces the pageant, was created in 2005 by April Fresh and Roseanne DeShanaro because they wanted to bring a comedy pageant for female impersonators to a larger audience. The first Miss Comedy Queen pageant was held in August of 2005 in Orlando and has grown exponentially over the years into one of the biggest and most popular drag pageants for queens who are looking for an outlet to express their humor and creativity. Miss Comedy Queen continues to grow with the addition of preliminary pageants that are held all across the country!
Im so excited to be your first representative of the new New York City prelim Miss Big Adams Apple Comedy Queen with my promoter Kari Kerning. The last 2 years at this national pageant I have been blown away by my amazing results. Not only was I the first NYC Queen to place top 3 (2nd runner up) both years I won Interview out of the nation and also The Tweeka Weed Originality award (judges award). Last year I managed to win Presentation as well. I am beyond thrilled and excited to have the privilege of representing NYC at this level once again, this year with a vengeance.
As many of you know, I'm a firm believer that laughter is the best medicine, especially now in our political climate. I want to be able to bring the best representation of myself, but having spent over $10K last year really broke the bank. As of now, I work almost every day and have been using that money to cover the many costs for this pageant. Not only am I buying flights for myself, my dancers, assistant, and my dresser, but there are also the costs of accommodations, wigs, dresses, etc... EVERYTHING ADDS UP!!!!!
Sunday marks 2 weeks until I hit the stage at the Parliament House for what I'm sure is going to be a night of me fighting for that crown. I decided to set up this GoFundMe page because many of you have asked how you could contribute or be a part of me bringing my A-game. For those who live out of state or can't make it to my gigs, this is a way for your to donate to my cause.
With that said I will be having A BENEFIT the night of August 5th from 8-10 before SHOWS @ Industry Bar with some amazing performers. If you are able to come out and support and donate, I look forward to seeing you, but if not, here's a way you can participate.
I cannot express my gratitude for anyone who is willing to help make a dream of mine come to fruition. Every little bit helps, and I will be forever grateful for the support.
Thank you so much and I can't wait to bring that crown home to NYC where it belongs!!!
