Tiny Chaz but Large Bills

Donation protected
Tiny Chaz came along shortly after we spent a lot of our resources helping another kitten, Little Mu, so we were already juggling our funds. But when our Founder, Siglinda, heard about this little bitty kitten, not much more than 4” long, who, deeply injured, dragged himself onto the porch of a lady’s home, asking to be saved, Siglinda didn’t bat an eye before sending out the email that saved his life. It never occurred to her to say “sorry, no money”… Chaz had already made his case.
Poor Chaz been attacked by an animal, and there were bites on his back and belly. He also had a badly broken leg. The lady who brought him in to her local shelter expected he’d have to be euthanized, and he probably would have been that day, if The Goathouse had not reached out. It’s not that we had money to spare – but sometimes we just have to trust it will come when a situation like Chaz’s presents himself with a giant and immediate need. Sometimes money is just money and a life is very precious, even that of a tiny kitten who by this time had lost his mom and everything else along the way – but was trying his best to get that second chance.
Chaz was so small and in such bad shape we weren’t sure if he was going to make it even with his spunk. He had a terrible infection from the bites and several very large abscesses under his skin that required cleaning and long hot compress treatments. Our Founder and team kept him close and tended to his wounds several times a day. Chaz was a terrific patient. He seemed to understand that he was now safe and loved. Even through what must have been horrible pain, his little personality came through – he’d lie on his blanket and paw at whatever he could reach, or just watch life around him with a serious but attentive look. He has very wise eyes, and what feels like an old soul.
Chaz’s broken leg still needs mending, and he still needs pain medication. Chaz’s Orthopedic surgeon has been waiting for Chaz to become strong enough to undergo surgery. Now that Chaz has recovered his other wounds, he’s about to head to the Orthopedic Specialty Hospital to fix that leg. Meanwhile, we’ve found a little grey kitten friend about the same size to share his crate with him, and they play and sleep curled up together, so this little survivor has a reconstructed life and a new pal. When he’s ready, we hope he and his pal will find a forever home together, but first we have his surgery to pay for, and his full recovery ahead to plan. Can you find a place in your heart to donate to support Chaz on his journey?
