Help Sama rebuild her father's house and her future

My name is Corrina and I live in New York City. I’m fundraising on behalf of Sama, whose family is currently living in a shelter in Khan Younis, Gaza. Sama’s sister reached out to me through social media with a request for support because her family is currently existing in one of the most tense situations imaginable. Sama’s family is warm and caring and on our video calls together they talk to me about the pharmacy they used to run, and they show me Sama’s adorable one month old nephew, surviving miraculously amidst a mountain of gray rubble outside of their window.

Sama needs her own funds to buy food, medicine for her diabetic grandfather, and supplies to continue her education. The only way to get those funds is with support from us. Here is Sama’s story in her own family’s words:

“Sama’s Hope

Sama is just 16 years old, but her world has been turned upside down. Until last year she lived in a modest home with her parents, four brothers, three sisters, and her grandparents. Sama had big dreams—she wanted to finish school and one day become a doctor.

But on October 7th, everything changed. The war arrived without warning, and in moments, Sama’s home was reduced to rubble. Her family escaped with their lives, but they lost everything they had worked so hard to build. Now, they are crammed into a crowded shelter, uncertain of what tomorrow will bring.

Even in the face of such loss, Sama refuses to give up. She dreams of rebuilding her family’s home, giving her siblings a safe place to grow up, and returning to school to finish her education. “If I can learn, I can build a better future for us all,” she says.

Sama’s hope is simple: to rebuild her life from the ground up. But she can’t do it alone. With your support, her family can have a home again, and Sama can continue her education, turning her dreams into reality.
