TJ’s motorcycle accident

On april 27th my lover and partner TJ was involved in a severe motorcycle accident. TJ, an activist, model, and lgbtq+ icon and ally is the most loving, inclusive human being full of life and embrace. Their resilience and hunger for growth astounds me as they continue to push through this situation even under the most heinous circumstances. Their left leg, that has been previously broken, is broken again in several places. Their knee is crushed, they have open fractures in their femur, and they were bleeding from their arteries. Because their leg has been previously broken and now has hardware in it, they are at risk of amputation. During TJ’s first surgery last night the doctors severely fractured tj’s hip while trying to remove the previously installed nail from their femur. This obviously caused them to pause the surgery, leaving TJ more debilitated and in pain than before. Unfortunately, we have also experienced medical negligence on behalf on the medical professionals. We have had heavy items placed and dropped on TJ’s injured limbs, TJ was almost dropped themselves while being transferred from table to table during a CT scan, and the attending medical professionals listened to TJ scream in pain and agony while refusing to administer proper pain medication. I’m here to raise money for TJ’s hospital bills due to the fact that TJ does not have health insurance. It is $25,000 for the ambulance ride alone, at least $23,000 per night for the hospital stay, plus recovery, surgery, medication, physical therapy, and treatment fees. With at least 3 mandatory surgeries, well over 10 days in the ICU and orthopedic units, an ambulance ride, and several other procedure costs piling up, you can imagine how quickly this bill is rising.  They have gotten their leg set multiple times, had a traction installed under their knee, and will have several more surgeries. We are beside ourselves at the amount of circulation and reach our gofundme has had, all thanks to the thousands of people sharing, donating, and reposting. We have had extremely generous donations come from people and brands like David Lee Roth (the singer of Van Halen), Styletech, and Rihanna’s Fenty x Savage team who wholeheartedly stand behind supporting TJ. The money that is raised using this gofundme will be deposited into my own bank account so that i can facilitate TJ’s expenses under their direction as they are incapable as of doing so themselves right now. When TJ directs me to do so, I will be transferring the funds from my bank account to their own using whatever method TJ prefers (venmo, check, wire transfer).
