TJ’s Warriors Help Battle Leukemia
Donation protected
Our amazing 36 year old friend, TJ McMahon, was flying high after proposing to the girl of his dreams. Ready to spend the rest of their lives together, TJ and Danielle had just picked the date for their big day and we’re about to send out save the dates when he started feeling exhausted and having flu like symptoms. Concerned he could have coronavirus, he went to the doctor only to discover something much worse.
May 1, 2020, TJ was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and is currently receiving treatment at Georgetown hospital. Due to covid-19 he is isolated and unfortunately fighting this disease alone - even Danielle and his immediate family are unable to visit. It pains us that we cannot physically be there to support TJ but we know he’s in good hands and we stay connected virtually as often as possible.
The past two weeks of intense chemo treatments have not taken a toll on the positive attitude of our dear friend. TJ has at least 2-4 more weeks of inpatient care before hopefully being able to enter phase 2 of his treatment partially from home. In Phase 2 TJ will continue to undergo chemotherapy, blood transfusions, spinal taps, etc. The objective is to maintain remission. Once maintained, phase 3 is to undergo a successful bone marrow transplant (hopefully from his sister). Phase 3 brings new challenges of its own with additional chemo and a minimum of 100 days of quarantine where Danielle and family will take on the roll of full-time caregivers.
Now instead of planning the fairytale wedding, TJ and Danielle are planning emotionally, financially and logistically for the long road ahead. Our strong fun loving best friend is going to overcome this! But he will be out of work for a long period of time. The goal of this Go Fund Me account is to reduce the financial burden so TJ can focus on getting better. Any contribution you are able to donate will help him tremendously.
We know these are difficult times for everyone. If you are unable to contribute, we absolutely understand and appreciate all of your well wishes and prayers!
