Greg Nesmith Memorial Underdog Scholarship

Donation protected
On January 28th, 2021, we tragically lost our friend and brother, Gregory Nesmith, unexpectedly. Gregory was a special, special person who was committed to creating transformation and change in the world.  To say that Gregory was an inspiring human being to be around is like saying Michael Jordan was pretty good at basketball.

Most people knew Gregory for his gigantic and infectious smile which lit every room he entered and for the radio shows he hosted in both New York and Philadelphia.  Those close to him also knew him to be an amazing and generous coach, an advocate and someone who would literally give the shirt off his back to help others (LITERALLY).

Gregory also co-created a successful men's group which has run in New York City for over five years.  Just two days before he died, Greg was actually on a call celebrating the 5 year anniversary of the creation of that Men's Group and shared about the work he was doing at Campbell's Soup, working with the advertising department to "Redefine Masculinity" and what it meant to be a man in 2021.

From his coaching, to the radio shows he hosted, to his work, and everywhere  -  Gregory was just a special man who was committed to positive change.  He was a shooting star that left us too soon.

Part of Gregory's personal journey was to complete a degree from UPenn where he went to school, but never graduated - a secret he held onto for many years before sharing it and then going back to school to complete his degree.

Gregory’s family members and friends are committed to creating a scholarship for him at UPenn to support Gregory's legacy and commitment towards education and inspiring positive change.   The scholarship will go to help others get to go to college, learn, and create the kind of impact and legacy that Gregory leaves behind.
