Supporting the Mitchell Family

My name is Lydia, I am Kimberly Mitchell’s oldest daughter. My mom was in a near fatal car accident November 15th at 19:30 in Las Vegas. Her car rolled over several times, seat belt was used and air bagged deployed but she still managed to fly out of the windshield during impact leading to several fractures and injuries.

My mom was life flighted to UMC hospital having surgery on her left wrist which was broken, she had C6-T1 spinal fusions and has a fractured sternum and several broken ribs and a base skull fracture needing a c-collar for 6 weeks. She will need to be out of work for 2-3 months as a Respiratory Therapist for healing and cannot drive as a result of the fractures s at this time.

Short term disability was denied in her case and now has no income for the next few months having 3 kids and a disabled husband. He does have disability coming in but that only pays for medications and food most of the time if we’re lucky.

Our family usually does not ask for help but we are desperate at this time. My mom helps out whenever and whoever she can. She is the most dedicated, resilient and hard working individual I have ever met my whole life working 2, sometimes 3 jobs to provide for our family. If you can find it in your heart to help, please do! Anything right now helps to pay for mortgage, utilities, monthly insurances premiums and medical bills not to mention food for the family.
