TK's Longest Ride Yet
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Joelle, and I am Tim and Tiffany's youngest daughter. I am creating this on behalf of my dad. Dad, aka TK, is not only our go-to guy but everyone else around him. He is the person we call for any need that we have.
Our family would like to start off by saying thank you for all of the messages and prayers. If you know TK, you know that snowmobiling brings him an endless amount of joy. On January 23, he was in a snowmobile accident in northern Wisconsin. He collided with a tree and took the majority of the impact on his head. He was immediately unconscious and had to be airlifted by helicopter to the nearest trauma hospital. Our family took the six-hour drive to be with TK. Upon arrival, there were many unknowns about the extent of his injuries and what the future will hold for him. His journey is just getting started as this will be a long road according to his doctors. At this time, we know that his injuries include bleeding in the brain, a cheek and neck fracture, a torn ligament in his neck, and an aneurysm in his carotid arteries.
There have been many ups and downs in this process already. He is currently on a vent to assist breathing so his brain can work less and heal. He is able to breathe on his own and at times even breathes over the machine. The nurses give him a sedation vacation to assess what he is able to do. At this time, he can move all extremities but cannot follow all commands. We know that he is not paralyzed. Every day we are hopeful that he will keep improving but know that this will take time. We don't know what TK will be able to do when he wakes up. As we are hoping for the best, he could have to learn how to talk, walk, and do normal everyday things he was able to do before.
All donations will go to medical bills and any rehabilitation that he will need. The hospital provides accommodations to families in need, and they run on donations. We would like to be able to donate back to the family house as right now mom has the house reserved until late April. Mom will then have to stay in a hotel until she is able to reserve the house again. She has filed for FMLA and is taking the rest of the school year off to stay by dad's side as we know he would do for her.
My parents generously care and give to others and the Lord. My sisters and I want to be able to assist them in the way that they have cared for everyone else around them. We appreciate any donation. If you are not able to donate, we would ask that you still share so people can hear about our story and send prayers our way.
