Support 'The Last Session': A Story of Love and Acceptance

About the Film:
Our film is about a very important topic within the South Asian diaspora—the generational gap and the loneliness that comes with it. It tells the story of an older Sardar Jee, living in Los Angeles who hires a young Indian guy to spend time with him. As their friendship grows, they must confront their differing values. By exploring both perspectives, this heartfelt story fosters understanding and sparks meaningful dialogue between both generations within our community.
Our Message:
Our film is about love and acceptance. Each new generation brings its own set of values, and both younger and older generations often struggle to understand and accept one another. Adapting to new cultures adds another layer of complexity, introducing values that can differ greatly from those of older generations. In trying to protect their identities, both sides can feel threatened.
While our culture is rich in love and deep relationships, these differences sometimes make it hard to bridge the gap—especially between the old and new generations. Through this film, we aim to share the message that if we set our differences aside, we can find acceptance across generations.
Our Achievement:
The script for 'The Last Session' was one of the top three finalists at the Tasveer Film Fund 2023, which is supported by Netflix. Tasveer is the only Oscar-qualifying film festival in the USA.
