Dan's Road to Recovery

As most people close to the Kerrigan and Wood families may be aware, on Sunday July 21 Daniel Kerrigan was involved in a major motor vehicle collision in Northern Alberta.
The accident was horrific, and although stable now, he is incredibly lucky to be alive. The damage from this accident will significantly impact Dan and his family forever. The injuries suffered include: a chest infection, two cases of cardiac arrest from the trauma, three strokes as a result of the cardiac arrest, pneumonia, six broken ribs, and three broken vertebrae in his back. Most significantly, a spinal cord injury that will have permanent implications for both his and his family's quality of life and health.
Due to his spinal cord injury, at this time Dan is a paraplegic. In addition to adjusting to this event emotionally, the family will need financial support to accommodate their new reality. Expenses thus far have included several air ambulance fees and ongoing medical bills. Dan will need to procure a suitable wheelchair, and retrofit his home and vehicle to adapt to his new physical requirements.
Dan is a devoted father to his 3 year old daughter Rileigh and a loving partner to Samantha. He takes pride in providing for them, but while relearning his life skills to cope with his injury, he is presently unable to work. Dan's family reside in Ontario and we believe that it is essential to provide a team approach to his recovery.
Following this tragic event, we are looking for donations to help alleviate the financial stress and burden so Dan and his family can focus on recovery. Dan is an incredible athlete, which we feel will help him in this situation. In addition to helping fund his medical equipment and household responsibilities, the funds will be used to ensure his support team can remain by his side. While Dan and family adjust to new life we want to ensure that he receives the best care possible and that Sam and Rileigh are surrounded with the love and support they need.
