It Takes a Village

Hoping to pay for college and create a better life for her children, Sarah Baileigh left a farm in New Hampshire and joined the army. After her stint in the military, Sarah graduated from college and landed her dream job as a security engineer at one of the largest retail companies in the world. But Sarah was hiding a secret. During all of this, Sarah and her four children had been living in fear from emotional and physical abuse from her children's father. And then, last year, things took a turn when Sarah almost lost her life at the hands of her ex-husband. After that incident landed him in jail, Sarah and her kids (ages 7, 9, 15 and 17), were finally able to start living a life free of fear, chaos, and manipulation. And now, only a year later, another tragedy. Sarah and her 17-year old daughter Nasturcia, a senior at Kentlake High School, were struck in a head-on collision by an impaired driver. The accident happened last week, just a few miles from their home. Sarah was left in critical condition, but her daughter was killed. Although this family has had more than their fair share of tragedy, Sarah now has another emotional and physical journey ahead of her. In addition to her sternum and ribcage, nearly all of the bones on Sarah's right side were broken, including damage to her heart and lungs.

Sarah and her kids need our help. I am appealing to the kindness of friends, family, and strangers to come together to lift Sarah's burden of financial stress, and support her family as they begin their journey through grief and heartache. 100% of donations received will go to the family to help cover funeral/burial costs, a family vehicle, and any new financial strains stemming from the crash.
