ReBUILDING HOPE in Honduras
Donation protected
Our mission is to BUILD 100 HOUSES for those families who lost everything to the hurricanes that hit Honduras in November 2020. Each house will be a 12 ft by 24 ft TREATED LUMBER structure built 8 feet off the ground level, in order to accommodate for any future flooding problems. These basic but solidly built homes will have a metal roof, 4 windows, a front door and porch with stairs. The $175,000 goal only represents 50 houses. There are more than 200 families that need homes just in the Chamelecon area of San Pedro Sula Honduras.
As a reminder, Honduras was devasted by Hurricane ETA and IOTA within 10 days of each other in November 2020. Thousands of families lost their homes and possessions. During the days and weeks that followed, the Honduran government offered NO ASSISTANCE. Some immediate relief came through churches and passerby’s.
Surviving families set up temporary plastic shelters along the sides of the main boulevards and under bridges. Immediately, Al Pasar Jesus Ministries started providing food and other essentials. We soon focused our attention and resources on assessing the damage and drew plans to BUILD (NOT rebuild since there were no homes left) 100 NEW homes.
After 8 months (December to July) we constructed and gave away 80 homes in 3 communities affected by the flooding. These houses helped provide HOPE. They were instrumental in REBUILDING the lives of these displaced Honduran families.
We are continuing our efforts (along with you the donor and the volunteer) in a NEW project to BUILD 100 HOMES. We now have several hundred families signed up. We will assist the first 50 families in February 2021. We can NOT do this without you! You are our encouragement, Thank you for your support! We hope that God blesses you nearly as much as you have blessed us❤️
