Voluntary work in Tanzania
Donation protected
Hello! I’m Sam.
In the summer of 2026, my school has offered me the once-in-a lifetime opportunity to travel to Tanzania to take part in voluntary work alongside the local Swahili communities. Staying in multiple different locations ranging from traditional Tanzanian houses to tents in the savannah.
On my journey there will be three key sections: Environment, Community and Adventure. In each section we will focus on a different aspect of Tanzanian life.
Environment:
From planting trees to making elephant dung paper, these activities focus on preserving and restoring the beautiful nature of Tanzania.
Community:
This is the main focus of the trip. Building classrooms, refurbishing the local amenities and installing water storage systems. We will be doing all of these activities and more, all with the aim of giving back to the local Swahili communities.
Adventure:
We will be completing our PADI scuba diving qualification in a beautiful Tanzanian lagoon.
These are all amazing things that allow me to broaden my knowledge of the world around me while also helping the environment and people of a beautiful country. I would be very thankful if you would be able to donate any amount of money to my cause.
I have two challenges related to this trip:
- raising the £5270 cost
- Getting physically fit enough to cope with the many physical activities
To accomplish both objectives at once, I have set myself the goal of running the equivalent distance of the Tanzanian coast, 650Km (as the crow flies) . I would be grateful if you would consider sponsoring me for this effort.
I will be posting frequent updates as to my progress on my Facebook account:
