Owl House Spring Spay Effort
Donation protected
Spring is here, and along with it come the calls for help for cats who survived the winter, and kittens who have just been born. Each abandoned outdoor cat needs to be sterilized and vaccinated ($100-140). The landowner where the cat was abandoned agrees to provide food and shelter. Each kitten or cat we take in to rehome (indoor homes only!) needs to be sterilized, vaccinated, FeLV/FIV tested, and treated for parasites ($120-$160). We already have 20 cats on our spring list who need help, and six of them are already here.
The Owl House is a neighbors-helping-neighbors program taking care of cats we find abandoned in our area, to save their lives, reduce the impact on our local shelters, and reduce the number of outdoor cats. A can of Kitten Milk Replacer is $4. A $5 donation can help save a kitten! Currently this effort is funded by myself (Spencer NY), Debra (Waverly, NY), and several generous donors who have adopted cats from The Owl House in the past. It is never enough to help everyone who calls.
Neighbors who wake up one morning and find cats who have been abandoned on their property don't have the funds to take these unexpected cats and kittens to the veterinarian. Without exception, we find these people to be caring and willing to help. Please help us help them by making any donation within your means. You will have helped both a cat, and a neighbor in need.
