Please help my dad, James Bushnell
On October 18th, my dad, Jim, was doing gutters on a two story house when he lost his footing. Jim fell down to the concrete, just missing an air conditioning unit and the deck. He lost consciousness for a little bit until he got life flighted To downtown UH. He is suffering from a broken femur and a broken arm. Unfortunately that means he won’t be able to climb up a ladder anytime soon for his profession. Anything you would be able to donate to help will go towards hospital bills and house bills until he is able to return to work would be greatly appreciated. It’s going to be a long road to recovery.
His femur has a clean break just above his knee and is pinned for now with a tensioner. His arm is broke about 3 inches from his wrist through both bones. Surgery was supposed to be 10/19but got cancelled and is now scheduled for 10/20.
Update: surgery was a success. On 10/20, he went in and had plates and pins placed in his arm to help secure his arm knowing he will be on crutches for a while. He also had a rod placed in his thigh. As of 10/21, his arm is very sore.. but he was able to wobble his way to the bathroom twice with the help of my mom. We are hoping he will be able to come home soon but that all depends on physical therapy at this point
if you are not able to help, please send as many prayers and thoughts as you can our way. The hospital is only allowing my mom, Jeanne and one other visitor a day. 3 children are taking turns to visit their father. We just want to be able to bring him home and see him recover. Thank you!
