$$ For TNR Needed for Deaf&Blind School
Donation protected
Hello!
I as well as some neighbors are organizing a TNR group for the 50-60 cats in a colony in our immediate neighborhood. There are also some colonies just a few blocks away making the total cat population about 100-120 cats.
Most of these cats dwell on a school campus for the Deaf and Blind, making some areas off limits to the children due to the defecation caused by the cats. This is, of course, no fault of the cats, however, they keep breeding and causing issues. Also, some of their kittens are dying shortly after birth because of the Phoenix summer heat, lack of food and water, and young age of the mothers.
Please help us raise money to set up vet appointments to get the cats spayed/neutered, and purchase food to help trap. Some of the money will also be going towards medical help for the sick cats, as well as fostering the litters of kittens in the colonies.
**so far we have helped over 20 cats get fixed. For those asking why it is taking so much money when there are resources such as altered tails: we are a small group of volunteers with normal daily jobs and do not have the luxury of being able to schedule appointments and then do scheduled trapping. We must utilize walkin in clinics. We have also used the money towards medical help for some of the cats, as well personally fostering and rehoming the litter is kittens this colony is producing. The humane society is completely full and is not taking kittens, nor are most rescues.
The Barnhart House group is going to help us do tunnel training and TNR on the remaining cats the last week of November. Each appt costs $50. After the trapping has finished, the remaining funds will be used towards maintaining the colony with food and water, as well getting any newbies or stragglers fixed.
Thank you everyone for the support!
