That little hope of becoming a mum

Hi, my names Zoe and I’m raising money so I am able to have my eggs retrieved and frozen before I have a hysterectomy.

I’ll tell you a bit about my story ever since I started my period they have been horrendous, regular trips to the GP to be told was just period pains. Fast forward to 2015 and I was diagnosed with endometriosis, I had surgery to remove this and was told everything was ok, 6 weeks later all my symptoms was back and I underwent another lot of surgery to be told again that it had all been removed and everything should be ok, and that I’d have to have IVF to have a child. This was a hard blow but something I was willing to do, then in 2019 all my symptoms plus more was back and I knew something wasn’t right I finally got in with my surgeon who said he can’t see it being my endometriosis but will take me to theatre to look as endometriosis can’t be seen on scans, so I went to surgery 12 hours later I came back from a surgery I expecting it to be nothing as the specialist was that adamant it was not the endometriosis to be told it was that severe I’d had to have my bowel removed and part of my cervix and uterus too. This was life changing for me to wake up to a bag on my side and to be told I’d never be able to have/carry my own child. My world shattered in all honesty but I kept going kept positive. Last year feb 2022 I went to surgery to have my ileostomy reversed as it was only meant to be temporary to let my bowel rest from the trauma, I awoke from the surgery and the first thing I did was check my stomach to see if the bag had gone and to my surprise it hadn’t when the surgeon come round to see me I was told that they had found a blockage on my remaining intestine and that the dreaded endometriosis was back for a 4th time I have recently been told that the only way for me to live a life as pain free as possible is to have a hysterectomy but then that means all hope of ever having a baby of my own is gone, I asked for my eggs to be retrieved so in the future I could use a surrogate to be told I would need to find this myself as it’s not funded by the NHS. Hence why I’ve made this page as it’s not cheap, I save every penny I can to be able to do this but time is running out and I am seeing my surgeon in April to discuss the hysterectomy, so I’m hoping to have the money by then
