To Buy Dallas' Robert E Lee Statue + MELT IT DOWN!
Donation protected
Almost two years after the City of Dallas removed its Robert E. Lee statue from its location in what's now called Turtle Creek park, the city is now auctioning off the statue to the highest bidder.
The auctioning is beginning at $450,000. The only rule is that the winning bid must agree not to publicly display the statue within the limits of the city.
We agree to each of these principles, as our aim is to acquire the statue and melt it down like Drogon so we can end ourselves of this cycle once and for all.
With this campaign, we aim to raise a collection large enough to put toward a bid on the statue through the official website hosting the auction: https://www.lsoauctions.com/details.cfm?itemnum=1074515131
Bidding for the auction is set to close on June 5. If we are nowhere near our goal by 11:59 p.m. on June 1, we will cancel the campaign and refund all contributions.
Help us put literal fire to this dark chapter in Dallas history.
