to buy groceries

This past Friday our community lost electricl power. The power was out for 36 hours. By the time the power came back on, my food in the freezer and refrigerator were spoiled and I had t throw it all out. Sheriff's deputirs bought me hamburgers to eat and water, but now I have to buy groceries.  I am elderly and I live on social security. I cannot afford to replace the groceries. One grocery shopping trip a month is all I can afford. These groceries would carry me to my next social security check in September. If you have a few extra spare dollars, I would be so grateful if you could spare me some!
